In Situ Catalytic Methanation of Real Steelworks Gases

چکیده
The by-product gases from the blast furnace and converter of an integrated steelworks highly contribute to today’s global CO2 emissions. Therefore, steel industry is working on solutions utilise these as a carbon source for product synthesis in order reduce amount that released into environment. One possibility conversion CO synthetic natural gas through methanation. This process currently extensively researched, can be directly utilised again, substituting gas. work addresses situ methanation real lab-scaled, three-stage reactor setup, whereby are bottled at plant during normal operation, not further treated, i.e., by separation step. high shares nitrogen present feed Furthermore, due catalyst poisons only pre-cleaned gases, additional gas-cleaning step based CuO-coated activated implemented prevent instant deactivation. Results show that, with filter included, steady state performed without any noticeable deactivation performance.

متن کاملNickel-induced morphology change of mesostructured alumina with enhanced catalytic activity for selective CO methanation.
Nickel-induced morphology change of mesostructured alumina with amorphous walls to bayerite tetrahedra when treated in water, and then to γ-alumina with worm-like mesopores topologically after it was calcined at 400 °C is reported. The catalytic activity for selective CO methanation increased significantly after this treatment.
متن کاملSurface Science Letters Measurement of Active Carbon on Ruthenium (110): Relevance to Catalytic Methanation
The detection, by Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), of fractional monolayers of carbon on Ru is difficult because of the interference between the Ru (273 eV) and C (272 eV) transitions [I ,2]. In attempting to deal with this problem, two methods of analysis have been used. In the first, the ratio of the 273 eV signal (p-p height) to the 231 eV Ru signal is monitored [3,4]. Because the 231 eV s...
متن کاملOn weak shock diffraction in real gases
Asymptotic solutions are obtained for the two-dimensional Euler system for real gases with appropriate boundary conditions which describe the diffraction of a weak shock at a right-angled wedge; the real gas effects are characterized by a van der Waals type equation of state. The behavior of the flow configuration influenced by the real gas effects, that includes the local structure near a sing...
